Only thing that tickle me a bit is: "Home is now generally regarded as a dud." As far as I'm concerned, it's more work in progress. The fact that it's still beta also give a big clue. And 8 millions regular visitors and tons of microtransaction also keep it out of the dud category. If somebody doesn't see the potential, then they probably didn't saw the potential of the first Xbox Live either and today, Live prove them wrong... You have to start somewhere!

Both are very close... And amazinly enough, the article say that the PS3 may be at a lower resolution... So I took picture 23 where you can clearly see and count the jaggies on both version and they come almost identical! (Though vertically, the PS3 may be a bit short...). No matter what though, both have huge jaggies (even if the article give the edge to the 360), so much that I think it's pictures from the same console, one with meteor and one without (so they had to take another shot)...

No integrated keyboard (would be so easy to add a slim blutooth keyboard to the design...), and even if there's tons of ventilation, I would worry a lot about accidentaly pressing the PS button on a DualShock and turning the laptop on, while the cover is closed... (Unless Ben has added a safety switch preventing the thing to turn on if the cover is down?). If you don't hear the beep (loud music in the room anybody?), then this is likely a path to disaster. Main ventilation is after all on th...

If that can confort you, I have 3.01, and I've been playing the hell out of Need for Speed Shift (over 1000 miles driven) with not a glitch yet. (also own a 60gig original). Played 4 movies (all bad movies, dang, nothing good is coming out lately) since the update. Also, since 3.00, a friend of mine is playing Infamous on my console and he is almost done being the good guy. And I'm sure other people did the same. Yes, bluray likely fail every now and then, but it's more a random thing than a...

Makes me laugh when people are comparing racing games to see if one has more pixels than the other...

All I do care about is if one has deformation and the other doesn't and if one use a steering wheel and the other doesn't. But when those guys check a racing games, they will tell you that there's one less pixel on a car hood and it's blurry while you're driving 100mph, but they don't even care what it look like after you ram a wall at that speed.

So, how to pick a ...

Don't worry too much about the 10% figure...

Acceptable failure rate in electronic products in 3%. But that's per YEAR... So basically, if you sell 100 microwaves, there's a good chance that 3 of them will fail the first year. Then, even if not as likely, you could expect 2.9 on the second year. Then 2.8 more on the third year.

Now, if I call all 100 owners after 3 years, I will get 9 unhappy people (or 9%). Sure enough, for a microwave, it's much less than that.....

"we believe that more customers bypass SquareTrade and reported failures directly to the Microsoft. In a survey of SquareTrade customers with Xbox 360s conducted by email, SquareTrade found that over half of our customers who experienced a RROD error reported their problem directly to Microsoft without contacting SquareTrade."

What's interesting though, is the fact that for the PS3, they don't even mention YLoD!!! It probably fall under "other", but still, th...

Even your old PS2 headset sound great. And trust me, any decent blutooth headset does the trick. If they would not sound good, they would not sell... Don't forget that those are made for cell phone FIRST, and the market is much bigger and less forgiven. Unless you buy your headsets in a dollar store?

Aaron Greenberg said they pulled the HDMI cable from the Elite package because most Xbox owners were not using it anyway:

So, basically, while a top Microsoft executive say that most Xbox owner don't even use a HDTV to play game (nobody would be crazy enough to use an inferior type of connection!), they show Forza with THREE HD screens? So from NO HDTV for MOST owners to extreme video splashing during show? Let me guess, the next Elite package will suddenly include THREE HDMI c...

Though, you never know... I'm pretty sure that based on all the stupid reviews like this one, some 360 only owners may get GT5 and some PS3 only owners may get Forza...

I've also heard Wii only owner may get Modnation.... That's a lot of game doing nothing on a shelf, but hey, those reviewer cannot be biased!

Just saying this guy likely NEVER EVER programmed one line of code on a XBOX360. He may have been a good programmer long time ago on PCs, but he's been VP for way too long. He is definitively not a reference when it comes to programming a 360, but he is probably the best at managing projects.

What he said made it rather obvious. You would not catch a 360 programmer saying something that stupid in public. If there was some programmers in the attendance during his speech, they lik...

Not everybody is a tech brain, and I've seen so much screwy things in my life from people who's job is accountant, kindergarden teacher, or even a president of a huge enterprise with a doctorate!

Things like:

You said: "These presentations are for developers of other companies. These are knowledgeable people in the industry. Do you really think they will present information that is inaccurate?"

Yet, this knowledgeable guy said: "When you're dealing with main memory, you work with "256ish MB" on the PS3 vs "512ish MB" on the 360."

Which means, this knowledgeable guy can make a game that will use all 512MB for code and 0MB (that's ZER...

Let me guess, you don't know that you can buy pretty much any laptop drive and install it in a PS3? No huge markup or anything. I bought a 500gig on Ebay for $75, then I bought a tiny USB enclosure for $10 because I didn't want to have th...
